Since 1999, we have engaged with the local community through salsa in a variety of ways.  Below is an overview of our current activities.

Instruction

All of our instructors are very experienced dancers and have a strong knowledge base of salsa music and dance.  We strive to create a fun, non-intimidating environment in which you can learn the skills to have fun on the dance floor.

We offer group classes and private lessons.  Our weekly Friday dances also include a beginning drop-in class.  All our classes are taught by our director Jose Cruz, and Salseros Dance Company instructors

Performance

Each year, we perform throughout Oregon and beyond at salsa festivals and private and community events.  The company is comprised of four performance groups:  Salseros Dance Company On2 Group (main group), Salseros On1 Training Group,  Salseros Ladies Styling Group and the Salseros Dance Company bachata Group.

Events

We host weekly dances at the Vet’s Club building, which include a drop-in class and open dancing.

We are available for performances, classes, and/or DJing at your private event, and we have worked with groups and organizations including Comcast, the Ford Family Foundation, and the UO Athletics Department.  If you have a special event such as a wedding or quinceañera coming up, we can choreograph and teach you a dance for your special day.  Our studio space is also available for rent for classes and events.

Community

Everything that we do is driven by our passion for Latin music and dance and for bringing people together through salsa.  In February 2014, we hosted the first ever Eugene Salsa Festival, a full weekend of live music, performances, and workshops.  We are excited about presenting this annual event to give back to the Eugene community.

We reach hundreds of kids each year through our director’s involvement with Lane Arts Council Youth Arts, in which artists conduct intensive residencies in elementary and middle schools across Lane County.

Our director also participated as an instructor in the 2014 Shall We Dance fundraiser for the local nonprofit Angel Hair Foundation.
